Start date and expiry date of the measures in force?
On January 31, 2020, the Council of Ministers declared a state of emergency for a period of six months as a result of the health risk associated with Coronavirus infection.
Possibility of guiding for foreign (non-resident) guides, yes/no, date?
On May 25th we were allowed to restart our general mountain guide activity in South Tyrol. On June 7th all formation for mountain guides and mountain leaders started.
Possibility of coming to the country for foreign (non- resident) tourists, yes/ no, date?
- The borders to Italy were opened on 3 June. From tomorrow, June 16th, bilateral travel to and from Italy is possible without restrictions.
Cable car open, yes/no, date?
The main cable cars in the Dolomites will open on 27 June.
Open hut, yes/no, date?
Most of the refuges and eating facilities in the mountain are either open or open at the end of June. Nonetheless, each hut should be checked individually to see how the restrictions adapted to the Covid19 situation are applied.
Not allowed activities (Mountain Sector), what are they?
Maximum group size?
No group limit defined in numbers. However, it must be strictly observed that during the whole day no crowds of people are caused and that the distance between people is kept. Therefore guided tours should be adapted to the group and technical skills of the participants.
For distances of less than one meter, a surgical face mask or neck tube must be used.
